Darjani goes Blade
It's been kind of a stillwater around here lately. We are still at least a year from playing SWG preCU, but we have some news for you. Darjani goes Blade, whenever the emulator software is ready for deployment a Blade superserver is ready to host our Galaxy! This means a computer with 42 racks, each equipped with 2 Xeon i7 6 core CPU's and 72 GB of RAM and a 16 CPU Monster for Database needs We got the hardware, so what about the software. There is a new website work in progress. When our new site goes live, some positions will open up for members who feel like stepping up and serve our community. After all these years there is still no MMO on the market that can be substitute for SWG preCU. We are sure it's definetly worth the wait to play our beloved game once again.

SpecFoce Hero/Beta Class
"Your candidacy for SpecForce training is itself the mark of a superior soldier. Simply having been accepted into the Special Forces training program is a mark of a trooper's superior qualities. Our washout rate is extremely high and MANY Alliance Regular troopers are SpecForce washouts. Candidates should not decline to take our Exams because there is no stigma attached to such failure. In fact, most failed Candidates go on to have very successful careers within the Regular Alliance Military. Their careers aren't as exciting, rewarding or as vital to the Rebel Cause but they are successful. Then again, you shouldn't worry about that because you aren't going to fail, correct? I can't HEAR you Candidate!" - From the standard acceptance holo sent to SpecForc Candidates
Rebel SpecForces should not be confused with Rebel Spec Ops. While SpecForces are the cream of the crop of the Rebel Active Duty Military, SpecOps members are drawn from both Civilian and Military personnel to serve as the elite spies of the Rebels. In fact, SpecForces often mention Special Operations agents as impassioned amateurs who rely on luck to complete their missions. Likewise, SpecOps agents tend to regard their counterparts as a group of arrogant, over-trained grunts who have the over inflated opinions of their own importance, to match. Against any attempts of the Galactic Empire and Vader, or even the emperor, the Rebel SpecForce is still the most successful military unit in the galaxy.
Although the Rebel SpecForces will never have great numbers, they are the Rebel Military's answer to the numerous Dark Trooper Squads of the Empire.
SpecForce soldiers are specifically selected for their high skill, bravery, morale, stealth ability, adaptability. and dedication to the Rebel Cause. Candidates push these skills to their limits during their SpecForce Assessment and Selection Tests. These Top Secret exams are NEVER spoken of, outside of the SpecForces family. The ex-imperial commando Han Solo’s, or Luke Skywalker’s skills set the standards for them.

We're in the process of moving our site and database to a new server cluster. You will be noticing smaller site down periods during the next few days and some parts of our website may not work as intended. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. This move is happenning in preparation for our Beta tests. We can't post any ETA, however "1.0 is closer than most would think" - who said that will remain a secret for now . Don't give up just yet, the bigger chunk of our long wait is behind us!
In preparation of our upcoming Closed Beta test of our galaxy the STAR FORGE, we will soon have an application posted on our site. There will be a Closed Beta test with 3 phases and an Open Beta, before we "officially" launch our galaxy. The first phase of Closed Beta will be invite-only, only a few people will be helping us to test our most important mods and server stability. The second Beta phase is when anyone who sent in an application will be considered. We will invite the most active and contributing community members first. During the 3rd Closed Beta we will be inviting all the applicant in a random order, untill we reach Open Beta, when the galaxy will be available for anyone. During Open Beta we will also start our voting system, where you'll be able to decide directions of our upcoming modifications!
Beta Testers will receive rewards for their contribution after the galaxy goes gold! These rewards will be forever unique and cool !
There was a 12 hours downtime we coulnd not forsee and we wasn't able to inform you about in advance. Our domain became pending cause of an error of administration. The Darjani.org domain name was transferred to P&C as a result, so everything is back to normal now.
A few SWG veterans an refugees came up with an idea in 2006 after they learned about the SWGEmu project. They wanted to create a small private SWG emulator server to "Relive the Saga". We've come a long way since, opened up our doors to the public, created a unique design with a solid idea how the game should be, or rather should have been. Darjani.org has reached the 10.000 registered user mark and that means a lot. Our community is stronger than ever, even those who are simply lurking these forums and not actively contributing have a shared dream, to play the greatest MMORPG ever made, again.
Thanks for the exceptional support you have shown!
The following short QA was compiled from a chat session with Oru. Since some of our members expressed their hunger for information about the state of the project I tried to collect it for you guys.
Q: How things are going with the SWGEmu project? A: Things are going well, the new scipt language we started using works like charm.
Q: Did you guys had enough time to work on the restructuring during the summer? A: We're still very busy coding! The new script language we use makes it fun though!
Q: What is this new script language, did you guys drop LUA and started using a new one? A: No, LUA is still in place for server configuration, the new script language is very similar to JAVA, but it compiles to C++. If you don't know about coding stuff, it makes coding much faster and easier, also the code we create with it is transparent, cleaner and more stable.
(This was not part of our conversation and serves as further explanation for those who are not familiar with the SWGEmu server yet Q: What is LUA for in the SWGEmu server? A: It's for configuring your server, you can setup loot tables, spawns, NPC's, professions, skills etc. with it)
Q: Are you still planning on unsing the Berkley database structure, which is more efficient than other solutions? A: We are creating an interface with the new script language that will support any type of database, but Berkley will be the best choice, since it costs less and it's faster than others.
Q: Will clustering be supported by the new server version, lets call it core4(unofficial name)? A: Yes, you will be able to run planets on separate server machines, further segmentation probably wont be neccesary, but we'll see.
Q: Is there any changes or new information on the requirement of becoming a "supported", or "official" SWGEmu server, or galaxy? A: There are still no details, but Darjani is in!
Q: The question you hear 100 times every day, when will you release core4(unnofficial name)? A: There is no ETA, if everything goes as planned we might reach the current state of core3 in a month, but as I said no ETA, our progression depends on too many factors.
The 3rd Beta/Hero Class revealed: Imperial Royal Guards
Members of the Royal Guard were hand-picked from the ranks of the most elite stormtroopers. Each recruit was scrutinized to fit select size, strength, intelligence and loyalty requirements, as well as latent Force sensitivity. Recruits strong but not too strong in the Force were noted and pulled aside to test into a special class of Royal Guards known as Sovereign Protectors. If they passed these even more rigorous tests, they were trained by Dark Jedi to wield the Force. The names of the Royal Guardsmen were never uttered by anyone outside the Guard, including Palpatine.
Equipment and training were lavished upon them at the Imperial Royal Guard Academy on Yinchorr. Students would train fencing and fighting in an arena called the Squall. Classes consisted of approximately forty students each, and trainees were partnered up into doubles. During a yearlong training program, recruits sparred against each other continuously to perfect their combat skills. A step away from the squad-based stormtrooper training received on Carida, by working both alone and in pairs, recruits learned how to rely on themselves or on a teammate to achieve victory. Training mainly centered on Echani hand-to-hand combat, and failure often resulted in death.
Unlocking Royal Guards
The Royal Guards are higly trained elite unit serving and answering directly to the Emperor. In order to unlock your Special Character Slot for Imperial Guard you will have to master every single combat professions on your main character(the first character you create) and you will have to collect history and combat related badges. This unlock method is similar to the Jedi Unlock System, but it requires less time and efforts.
The life of Royal Guards
Once you unlocked you will be able to create a human character. Your Imperial Guard Beta/Hero character will be overt imperial from the second he was born. Royal Guards are chosen by the Emperor from Force Sensitive Imperial Stormtroopers, so they will have an initial Force Pool of 1000 and with a Force Regeneration of 25. First you will have to master the Pikeman and any other Combat Profession, then you can enter the Imperial Guard Ranking System and you may choose to train another regular Combat Profession and a Jedi Profession, or two Jedi Professions. You may choose from two Jedi Professions: Force Defender and Force Powers.
Here are two possible template alternatives for the Imperial Royal Guard Beta/Hero Class at rank9: 1. Master Brawler Master Fencer Master Pikeman Master Force Powers Force Defender 4444
Entering the Ranks will be somewhat hard compared to other Hero Classes. During the final test trainees will be fighting each other till death before Emperor Palpatine and only the bests may enter the ranks of the Royal Guards. This final test will be a last man standing. Players may repeat this final test as many times until they succeed. Here are the ranks and representative titles, Skill Points and the number of available spots for each ranks:
rank0 – Royal Guardsman 4th Rate – 20SP - Unlimited rank1 – Royal Guardsman 3rd Rate – 18SP - Unlimited rank2 – Royal Guardsman 2nd Rate– 18SP - Unlimited rank3 – Royal Guardsman 1st Rate – 18SP - Unlimited rank4 – Sovereign Protector 4th Rate – 18SP - 80 rank5 – Sovereign Protector 3rd Rate – 17SP - 80 rank6 – Sovereign Protector 2nd Rate– 17SP - 40 rank7 - Sovereign Protector 1st Rate– 17SP - 40 rank8 – Sovereign Sentinel – 17SP - 40 rank9 – Sovereign Shadowguard – 17SP - 20 rank10 – Royal Guard Captain – 1SP - 11 rank11 –Royal Guard Commander– 0SP – 1
The Imperial Royal Guards will advance in ranks by earning faction points and testing their skills against each other. A lower ranked Imperial Royal Guard may challenge anyone one rank above him, to take his place. Duels will be held in front of a high ranking Royal Guard who will supervise the event. This supervisor, mostly rank9, or above will have a right to define the way and settings of the duel.
