Our Furry, and Not so Furry, Friends
Pets, in Pre-Combat Upgrade, are meant mainly for Creature Handlers (usually abbreviated as CH). However, most people have a pet for fun or just to have one, sometimes their pet is a mount. For non-CH players, your pet must be below challenge level (CL) 11. As a Creature Handler, you can have a pet up to level 70. Levels of pets can be found through examining a Bio-Engineered pet or looking at the CL on a pet you have in your datapad. You can get your own pet by simply requesting one from a Bio-Engineer (abbreviated as BE) or, if you are a Creature Handler, taming a pet found in the wild.
Creature Handler
Derived from Scout. Creature Handlers are masters of the wild, seeking to tame the largest of animals. As a creature handler, you can have up to 20 pets stored in your datapad and up to 3 pets out at once, but (unsure information) they must sum up to a level of 70.
Skill Mods of a Creature Handler
Taming Vicious Creatures - This skill mod increases your chance of taming aggressive animals and the maximum level that you may tame.
Taming Wild Creatures - This skill mod increases your chance of taming wild animals and the maximum level that you may tame.
Stored Pets - This skill mod increases the maximum amount of pets you may have in your datapad.
Additional Pets - This skill mod increases the maximum amount of pets you may have out at once. Note that the total level of the pets must not exceed the maximum level gained through adding various skill boxes in multiple branches in Creature Handler with a cap of CL 70.
Pet Commands
Their are several commands that, if taught, a pet will follow. When a pet is taught a command such as 'Sparky attack' the pet will follow that command if it is of exact wording (caps do not count) and attack your current target. When a pet is taught 4 commands that include a name in the beginning (before the command such as 'attack', ex. "Sparky Attack" "Sparky DoATrick" "Sparky Store" "Sparky Follow") this will give your pet a name.
To keep a world free from spam, use /tellpet <command> to silently send a command to your pet. ex. /tellpet Sparky Attack.
Pet Command: Attack - This command will make your pet attack your target. You may switch targets and the pet will stay on the original target is was told to attack.
Pet Command: Follow - This command will make your pet follow you around.
Pet Command: Store - This command will store your pet into your datapad.
Pet Command: Special Attack One - This command, if your pet has a special attack one, will make your pet use its first special attack.
Pet Command: Special Attack Two - This command, if your pet has a special attack two, will make your pet use its second special attack.
Pet Command: Stay - This command will make your pet stay in its current position.
Pet Command: Guard - This command will make your pet guard your current target. If the target is attacked, the pet will automatically attack the attacker.
Pet Command: Patrol - This command will make your pet patrol in a small area.
Pet Command: Formations - This command will make your pet(s) form into a pre-determined formation.
Pet Command: Trick 1 - This command will make your pet do a trick.
Pet Command: Trick 2 - This command will make your pet do a trick, but a different one than trick one.
Pet Command: Group - This command will allow your pet to enter in your current group, making the pet easy to target.
Pet Command: Follow Other - This command will make your pet follow your current target.
Pet Command: Friend - This command causes your pet to make friends with the current target.
Pet Command: Transfer - This command will cause your pet to be transfered to the selected master creature handler.
Pet Command: Ranged Attack - This command will cause your pet to attack the current target, but with a ranged attack. The pet must have a ranged attack to do this.
Creature Handler Abilities
Some very useful abilities that creature handlers obtain throughout their profession are as follow:
Embolden Pets - Similar to tumbling as a marksman. This ability makes your pets become bolder, at some cost to you.
Enrage Pets - This will force your pets into a rage, making them cause more damage, while taking more.
Train Mount - This will make the current pet into a mount. Please note that only some pets can be made into mounts.
Bio-Engineered Pets
Players that are BEs can create custom pets out of a pet model and by inserting a DNA Template into it. These pets are usually much more powerful then creatures found in the wild.
